Louise obtained her law degree in 1993 from the University of British Columbia. Upon graduation she clerked for the Supreme Court of British Columbia for one year and then articled with the Ministry of Attorney General. After her call to the bar in 1995 she practiced for five years in Nanaimo, BC before moving to Kamloops. Her undergraduate studies were taken at McGill and University of Toronto.

Primarily a trial lawyer, her litigation practice includes family law, estates, contract disputes and employment law.

Following the lead of her busy children she has volunteered her time with the Valleyview Skating Club, and Girl Guides of Canada. She acted as treasurer of CBA Family Bar subsection between 2001 and 2004.
